Vaccines for Influenza (Flu Shot)

All people, including babies over 6 months old, can get a flu shot each fall. The flu shot reduces the risk of getting influenza (the flu). Getting a flu shot helps protect babies, and Elders.

The flu shot is very recommended and safe for Elders over 65 years old, and those with lung disease, heart disease, or diabetes.

Nunavut communities offer free flu shots at the start of flu season. Visit the Government of Nunavut, Influenza page, to learn abut the program in your community. An annual flu shot is the best way to make sure you don't get the flu.
